KEPserverEX ODBC Client Driver OPC Server

Kepware Technologies provides an important piece of the puzzle that will accomplish this objective. Their KEPserverEX product offers an interface for Open DataBase Connectivity.

The ODBC Client Driver is capable of communicating with any application that supports the standard "ODBC" or MyODBC data source format.

Kepware's ODBC Client driver works in conjunction with our OPC Server KEPServerEX, to provide single-point access to multiple ODBC data sources via ODBC (Open DataBase Connectivity). The goal of ODBC is to make it possible to gather any data from any application, regardless of which database management system (DBMS) is handling the data. Using the power and speed of OPC, KEPServerEX is able to offer ODBC data to any OPC/DDE enabled client. Data integrity is ensured with our extensive error handling.

The ODBC Client Driver OPC Server is a plug-in device driver for KEPServerEX. A "Plug-in" is a software program (.dll) that extends the capabilities of KEPServerEX to fit the communication requirements of a specific device or system. The plug-in driver handles all of the proprietary communications between the device/system and the OPC layer, KEPServerEX. The KEPServerEX core then handles all OPC and Proprietary Client communications between the plug-in driver and the Client application.

The ODBC Client Driver is also included in the Manufacturing Suite.

Kepware also offers a connectivity suite for Oracle's MES and MOC database products.
