| The
EDW-100 is an is an Industrial Ethernet to serial adapter
or Ethernet Terminal Server, designed for industrial use
in harsh environments. The unit use standard TCP/IP
protocols together with serial equipment, it allows
almost any serial devices to interface through a new or
existing Ethernet network. Two EDW-100 units can be used
to create a simple point to point link or multiple units
can be linked to form a one to many application all using
Ethernet as the medium to transport the data. A point to
point application can be configured with both UDP and
TCP, if TCP is used the unit can act both as a client or
as a server. Configuration of the unit is simple using
theWeb-tool or via Telnet. It is also possible to
configure speed and duplex via DIP-switch, this setting
can be override by the Web-tool. A special adjusted 2 port
licence of the virtual COM-software, Serial/IP from
Tactical Software, are included with EDW-100 and EDW-120.
If there is a requirement for more than two ports, a new
licence must be ordered from Westermo. Note that the new
licence can not be based on the delivered 2 port licence.
Possible options are 4, 8, 16, 24 or 48 ports. For price
information, please contact Westermo.
In a point to
point application the EDW-100 can be to replace or extend
a cable link. The distance between the EDW-100 units is
only limited by the size of the LAN. Data can be sent
across the network using ether UDP or TCP. If TCP is used
EDW-100 can be configured both as a client and a server.
A typical application would be a SCADA or Data logging
application interrogating a sensor or PLC.

|
| The
EDW-120 is a serial to Ethernet converter designed for
use in harsh industrial environments allowing two RS-232
serial devices to communicate via TCP/IP Ethernet
networks. As well as supporting UDP, TCP client and TCP
server connections the EDW-120 also has an array of
special modes allowing the unit to be used in a wide
range of complex applications. Configuration is via web
interface and by DIP switch. DIP switches allow the
Ethernet connection to be fixed if auto-negotiation is
not possible. The web interface which is password
protected for security allows all other settings to be
configured remotely. It is also possible to connect and
configure the IP address locally via the serial port. A special adjusted 2 port
licence of the virtual COM-software, Serial/IP from
Tactical Software, are included with EDW-100 and EDW-120.
If there is a requirement for more than two ports, a new
licence must be ordered from Westermo. Note that the new
licence can not be based on the delivered 2 port licence.

The
MCW-211 is an Industrial Ethernet FX/TX Media Converter.
The MCW-211 convert data between Ethernet 10/100 Base-TX
and 100 Base-FX. The unit is easy to use and install
caused by auto-negotiation of speed and duplex and
auto-crossover and auto-polarity on 10 Mbit/s. The media
converter is be transparent for large frames (VLAN or
QoS). It is also possible to set speed, duplex and flow
control via DIP-switches. The FX side supports
Far-End-Fault indication. A link fault from either side
shall be forwarded to the other side, Link Fault
Forwarding. Via DIP-switches it is possible to control if
both sides or just one (either) side supports LFF.
MCW-211 has a wide DC power input range with polarity
protection and redundant power from dual sources. With
extended temperature range supported as standard the
MCW-211 is designed to be used the harshest environments.

| MDW-45
is designed to meet industrial demands for reliability
and functionality in environments with high levels of
interference. MDW-45 is an interface converter between
RS-232 and RS-485/422. The device can be used in
multidrop and point-to-point applications to communicate
on 2-wire or 4-wire connections up to 1200 metres (4000
ft) and with 32 connected devices in bus oriented
applications. In 2-wire half-duplex communication
(RS-485) MDW-45 can automatically control the data flow
depending from which side the data is sent. Greater
transmission ranges or additional connected devices on
the bus can are possible with one or more repeaters.
MDW-45 is designed for mounting on 35 mm DIN-rails. |
