One of the key advantages of our system is the peripheral components that were developed to aid both in installation and allow for future growth without reinvestment. By using the RS232 Wedge pictured to the left a WireFreeCNC® device can be mounted inside the control cabinet and tapped into the existing serial port on the machine. This allows the port on the exterior of the cabinet to still be functional. This accessory enables the installer to easily source low voltage power from inside the machine cabinet.

The transition from a DNC system to an ANDON system is a snap. A 10 pin header connector is attached to the WireFreeCNC® DRP unit and Eight optically isolated inputs are available. These inputs can be connected to monitor Cycle Start/Stop, Alarm, FeedHold, Spindle/Feedrate Overide, M00/01 lights, Setup, Maintenance modes or to report a condition at the\par machine such as material needed or no operator available. This hardware automatically reports to the WireFreeCNC® Events Server Software which provides an automated method for the collection and display of real-time data. All events are stored in\par a SQL compliant database where reports can be quickly displayed. The visual representation of shop floor data provides a dashboard for users at all levels. Overall Equipment\par Effectiveness (OEE) and Machine Tool Efficiency (MTE) can be\par gathered to determine where and if bottlenecks occur. With this system in place a point of reference can be made so that all processes put in place can be measured to determine the effectiveness of their implementation.
